Medical Outreach

Our medical outreach is to children in developing nations who need critial cardiac intervention and care.

Rotary District 7500 maintains important symbiotic relationships with other organizations who provide the end-point medical services outlined in our mission statement:

Gift of Life International was founded by Rotary District 7250 with the collaboration of Rotary Districts and clubs around the world. The 71 GOL Programs and their respective members have treated and saved the lives of more than 15,000 children from 68 countries on 5 continents.

Through generous funding provided by corporations, businesses, civic organizations, foundations and individuals, GOLI has coordinated and provided surgical missions in over 20 different countries. The "Our Hearts Are In..." global initiative focuses on the development of sustainable pediatric cardiac surgery programs in Uganda, El Salvador and Jamaica. These programs are defined by the empowerment of local doctors and nurses to care for their own children. Ongoing training, essential equipment acquisition and supplement supply programs have been implemented in these countries to ensure that children afflicted with congenital heart defects (CHDs) can be cared for on a sustainable and reliable basis. Over the past 3 years more than 600 Ugandan, Salvadoran and Jamaican children have been treated under the "Our Hearts Are in…"
