The Story of Alison

In the Summer of 2012, we received a request from Jamaica to help a 14-year old girl named Alison who was in serious need of corrective surgery for a heart rhythm anomaly that threatened her life.

Arrangements were made with Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital in Browns Mills, NJ for the surgery to be performed. Additional arrangements were made to transport Alison and her parents to New Jersey were they were hosted at the Ronald McDonald House.

The successful surgery was completed in early July, 2012 and the family returned home with the knowlege that Alison now had the opportunity to live a long and healthy life.

The picture below shows Alison (second from left), and her mother and father with their Rotarian host Mike Byers as they were preparing to leave for their home in Jamaica.
